Purpose of the role

Inspiring support role, for a technical oriented Microsoft specialist. This ambitious support engineer will service the worldwide organization and enables the company to reach their ambitious strategic goals.
Main activities include installing, configuring and maintaining workstations, peripherals, servers, network devices and software. Moreover providing effective and efficient support to customers.

The engineer is part of a professional IT team that services and enables this fast growing international financial company.

Microsoft Exchange, Windows 7, Windows 2008 R2, Active Directory, VMWare VSphere 5; Symantec Enterprise Vault, Backup Exec & Altiris.

Responsibilities

1. Install and maintain hardware, software and networks.
• To deploy and maintain workstations/servers and associated peripherals
• To install and configure operating systems and ICT software
• To lead in the compilation and maintenance of an accurate inventory of hardware and software, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations
• To support and develop system recovery processes to minimize the risk and impact of a serious disaster: including coordinated backup processes, efficient deployment of anti-virus software and the provision of replication for users and servers
where needs are identified.

2. Support Desk
• To provide technical support to telephone and online requests from users for all PC hardware, software, peripherals, networks and servers
• To log support calls and document their outcome to facilitate the resolution of common queries.
• To contribute to ensuring that the help desk system/s and software are kept up to date and feedback provided promptly
• To work with the IT Manager to agree and provide Key Performance Indicators for the Support Desk and to maintain a strategy for Excellence
• To assist in the compilation of technical documentation, guidelines and procedures, and ensure they are disseminated to users.

3. Messaging and Communications
• To maintain the Microsoft Exchange server and Outlook web access for every staff member
• To maintain Microsoft Active Directory user network access accounts to provide secure and efficient links to email, software, systems and information
• To maintain User Administration in the Group Systems (Exact, Qics a.o.)
• To liaise with external suppliers to maintain voice communication systems including, landline, broadband, mobile phones and converged voice and data.
• To install and maintain secure routers, firewalls and gateways
• To provide printing and scanning across the network
• To provide network cable and WiFi installations and maintenance
• To provide and ensure security of remote access systems.

4. Personal and Professional Duties
• To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job.
• To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, on an occasional basis, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job.
• To work with the IT Manager to assist in strategic business and financial planning to ensure the ICT Strategy meets the organizations business plan.
• Participate in stand-by shifts for support outside local office hours.
• To conform to corporate policies, standards and guidelines with respect to information systems.
• Occasionally travel to foreign offices.

Job requirements

Educational level: bachelor IT sciences with MCSE certificate;
Outstanding knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Exchange, Windows 7, Windows 2008 R2, Active Directory, SQL; VMWare VSphere 5; Dell Servers; Symantec Enterprise Vault, Backup Exec & Altiris; Cisco Routers, Switches and Firewalls
Practical knowledge of architectual concepts with respect to network and servers;
Understanding of (technical) English, both verbal as in writing.

Remuneration

Excellent remuneration package, including a benefit free pension scheme and 13th month. A salary indication, depending on the candidates level of experience, would range between € 30.000 to € 48.000 gross per year.
