Role

The Business Development Manager (BDM) develops and generates new business opportunities for Public Signage products. He or she is responsible for the acquisition of new projects and project bids. He works across Europe.
The BDM hunts pro-actively for target organizations and establishes communications with those businesses that can benefit from our clients extensive productrange.
Moreover the BDM further develops multi-tier relationships to organically grow the clients’ accounts, builds a referral and lead generation network and develops and manage marketing tools and collateral for existing and new clients.
The BDM will make an intensive study of the local market, the distribution channel and the customers and will cooperate with partners in this channel
He or she implements business models so as to create new ventures and adopts a hands-on approach in monitoring the implementation and execution of marketing programs

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Prepares the annual Business Development Plan, based on market and technology research, which will be incorporated in the annual sales plan
• Define and follow up of yearly sales targets and objectives / strategy
• Determine new opportunities by analyzing business needs
• Distribution channel analysis and development
• Provide direction, guidance to the European sales representatives to develop and generate new business opportunities
• Identify new product needs and support product development, planning and management
• Sales organization planning and development
• Develop and deliver business plans in close co-operation with the European sales representatives
• This position is crucial to achieve the market share target for Europe

Requirements

The position requires the following personal capabilities for acceptable performance:
• Bachelor Degree/Master in Business Administration/Marketing or equivalent
• Knowledge in Product development
• At least 6 years, with relevant experience in the Public Signage Displays market or a similar industry
• Excellent negotiation skills
• A pro-active self-starter who can operate both individually and as part of a team
• Outstanding needs analysis, positioning, business justifications and closing skills
• Superior presentation and excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• High commercial acumen and a record of confidence dealing with middle managers through to decision makers
• Travel is essential for this job (50%)

Their European marketing and sales organization has an exclusive brand license agreement to market and sell LCD monitors. Product lines include: LCD monitors, all-in-one PC’s, public signage and monitor TV.

The organization is rapidly growing and focusses on a larger market share. The BMD plays a key role in this strategy, working closely together with the Sales & Marketing director.
